Al, just bought a 1680 myself early one. One surprise I had on the running gear was the hydraulic motor actually driving the the transmission was leaking into the tranny and overfilling it blowing oil out the breather. 750$C to fix motor. Also if it does not have the updated coupler to the hydro the splines on the shaft and hub may be worn. Hope this is relevant.
