We purchased a '97 8780 and have used it in wheat and canola in '99. The performance is good as the engine has had the pump boosted to produce maximum hp. The 8780 kept up to our older 9700 in a 50 wheat crop and even surpassed it. It simple and has the hydraulic reverser for the rotor which is a handy feature. The rotor can be rocked to free material. We had some problems with it in flax, but so did every one last year. The fuel economy is also good, and the cummins starts at the touch of the key.
