Barley usually threshes a little harder than wheat. If you didn't experience whitecapping or head chunks with grain in them on the shoe in that crop, you'll probably be OK to leave out the wires in wheat, as well. late fields -- Don't know for sure what cutters are going to do this year. We're going to have some wheat ready in Eastern Ks. 2 to 3 weeks before most of the rest of the state. I expect to see some crews split up in order to try to keep customers at least partly satisfied.
