Has anyone heard how many bushels of corn a 480 will average with a 12R30 and enough trucks and carts per day.

I don't know about a 470 but our 465 can shell 2500 to 3000 bushels an hour in 150 bu_acre corn, a 12 row 30" head, unload on the go, and three semi's. Our problem is keeping up with the trucks. Also the 465 will run out of horsepower when unloading on the go in hills at 5 mph. This is not realy a complaint as we rarely have any need to run that fast.

the 470 has about as much capacity as the 460, if you are running a 12r30. the grain samples were both excellent. both machines have the same hp, the 470 just takes more ponies to run the seperator. it runs out of horsepower before it runs out of cleaning capacity. would run toe to toe with the 9750sts if it had 30-40 more hp. it needs the same c-9 engine that they are going to put in the 475, running 330hp. know a guy who owns a 460 and tried out a 470 and thought they were about even in performance. neighbor tried one out with an 8r36 head in 170bu corn and was picking 3300 bu_hr

Seen a guy with a 485 12r30 heads and 200 bushel corn average about 4300-4350 bu hour. You want to take about something neat, he was unloading on the go and loading the grain tank almost as fast as he was getting rid of it. The guys running the carts were busy

We ran a 470 demo in wheat this summer. It could not keep up with our 9610 Deere even so the Deere cut 6 foot more (MacDon). The CAT head was not worth talking about. When I pushed the machine it would just through it out of the back over separator and sieves. The CAT people were not able to help it. Their service needs a lot of improvement, too.
