Charlie: A rule of thumb to follow-- On concave crossbars 3_8" or more thick, leading edge radius should never exceed about 1_8". For an eyeball measurement, visualize the size of a BB.If leading edge radius approximates or exceeds this, the concave should be rebuilt or replaced. On crossbars under 3_8" thick, leading edge radius should not be more than approx. 1_2 of the size of a BB. To check crossbar height, lay a piece of 3_8" keystock against the back of the crossbar on top of the suspension wires. Crossbar height at that point should be about the same as the keystock thickness. last, the crossbars should be fairly straight, with no dips.
