Combines large wire concaves

every other wire shold be removed for combining corn or soybeans

The main reason that wires are removed is to get the grain out of the rotor cage. I leave every wire in the front concave and remove from the back half of the 2nd concave and every other wire in the 3rd concave. Instead of putting the wires back in for beans I have purchased and use the cover plates sold by Mr. Gordon. The cover plates will increase the thrashing of the beans out of the pods and use keystock grates in the back. The grain diverter...I used but is junk!!

You want to run the concave with less wires in the rear position.

Bigtracker, I would pull every other wire out of the other two concaves also. But there are a lot of guys on this site that leave them in on the front concave. Good luck with the rotary combine. I'm sure you'll like it. K.A.
