One difference is that on an 883 you have to grease the rollers at the front daily. The 1083 has "water pump bearings" so this makes less maintance work each day. The 800 heads have springs under the row dividers and these will get rusty and are not cheap to replace. feel free to ask more questions since I had a 863 years ago.

Not all 1000 series heads had sealed "water pump style " brgs. Early units had a needle brg that HAD to be greased OFTEN.
