Try cutting beans diagionally to the rows even though they are drilled . I have used the Crary gaurds in the past with the long short points. they worked good when beans were dry, but mud and corn stalks in 10" notill beans plugged , some root balls would also push. I am not familiar with the golden cut gaurds , are the similar IJ

Goldncut is the long and short gaurds.It was dry and cutting on an angel did not work.I read eleswhere that said a finer knife was betterIJIJIJIJIJ Stephen

Could it be that the short point is not letting the stalks sticking up get to the knife, and then get cut off allowing the bean stalk to reach the knifeIJ A finer Knife couldnt hurt, we quit the Crary and went back to a regular green sicle. Have used the TigerJaws,worked well except to much knife breakage if you have rocks, Good luck....
