Combines Peterson Rigid Airfoil Chaffer

We have a Peterson in a 9500, it works very well in sesame and klien grass seed. You close it almost shut to keep sticks out.Only trouble I have with it is that the adjusting linkage seems weak any small bit of stems or rocks have to be cleaned out to close down.Have a rigid in a 8820 but have no luck in these small seeds. It is alot lighter than the toothed chaffer and seems to save the shaker arms and bushings. Also it does a great job in wheat and milo leave set on full air.

We have a 9500 with the Peterson works well in sesame and klein grass.Only problem is the adjusting linkage seems weak.Any small bits of stems or rocks make it impossible to close.Once its almost shut it will keep sticks out.You have to play with the air to fine tune it.Have a rigid in a 8820,does not work in these crops but in oats, wheat and milo leave full air and it does a perfect job. Also its lighter than a toothed chaffer so it saves shaker arms and bushings.

Use the Pererson in a 9500 does a good job in klien grass and sesame. The adjusting leakage seems weak but once shut down it keeps the sticks out.Play with the fan to fine tune. Our 8820 has a rigid but willnot work in these crops. It does a perfect job in oats, wheat and milo. Its also lighter than the toothed chaffer so it saves the shaker arms and bushings.

Quite a large number of operators have had good success with the fixed airfoil chaffer, since it directs air straight up and allows more air than others. It's also good in other crops, as well. Another alternative would be a fixed opening (.101") cleaning screen as replacement for the bottom sieve. Check with gwill@holtonks.net for airfoil chaffers, and jvord@hotmail.com for cleaning screens.
