Bernie, You should check some simple things before assuming your Hydro needs rebuilt.Is the hydraulic pump drive belt tight and not slipping,check hydro charge pressure(200-400psi),if charge pressure is ok,then check high pressure relief(5000psi+100).Over years of use and normal wear of internal parts the high pressure relief will tend to drift lower.High pressure relief is adjustable,but make sure you have somebody that knows what they are doing.5000psi oil can kill if injected into the skin.Also,don't go by the assumption that if 5000psi is good,then 5500psi would be better.The life of your Hydro will be shortened with pressures over 5000psi.If the above troubleshooting checks out,then you may be in for a Hydro rebuild.
