I always retract the auger on the l3. It has never caused a problem. I retract it regularly with the bin not completly unloaded. Grab a hammer and hold your arm out at the same angle as your auger-then lay it over on your other arm as it is when retracted on your machine. Which had the most stressIJ Exactly.

Yes it is preferable to always return the unloader tube to the cradle. Not only is it less stressful on the elbow but trees and telephone poles have been known to run into the tube. I have seen it. There is a reinforcement kit available if you have rough ground or terraces. It is available from your dealer. If he can't find the part number tell him to call AGTAG @ 816-836-6438 for the part number.
