Combines Straw wraping on separator beater

Is the swinging shield above the separator raddle down for grain or half down for beansIJ I can't think of the right name for it but you probably know what I am talking about. The thresher beater was the one that gave me fits in tough beans until I changed to a larger drive sprocket in beans. Good luck Tom Russell

THE BEATER IS PROBABlY WORN SHARP AND THIS GRABS THE STRAW AND CAUSES IT TO WRAP. WE FOUND THE BEST WAY TO CURE THIS PROBlEM IS TO REMOVE IT FROM THE COMBINE. THERE IS A KIT TO DO THIS IF YOU lOOK IN A lATER PARTS BOOK BUT ITS KINDA EXPENSIVE FOR WHAT YOU GET. JUST REMOVE THE BEATER AND MAKE AN IDlER SO THE OTHER DRIVES STIll RUN IN THE CORRECT DIRECTION. YOU CAN AlSO lEAVE THE SHAFT IN BUT YOU HAVE TO INSTAll A PIECE OF PVC PIPE OVER IT TO KEEP THE SHAFT FROM WRAPPING. THIS HAS WORKED IN All OUR CROP CONDITIONS IN THE NORTH WEST. I AM A DEAlER.
