How flat is your groundIJ We've cut soybeans with rigid heads before. Doesn't work as good as a flex but it will get the job done. How are they plantedIJ Rows or drilledIJ If rows you'll have to run at an angleto keep dirt and trash from building up in the middles.

The beans are planted in 30" rows. The field has one terrace and a few low areas. We are kind of wet and will need a frost before things will dry down.

I cut peas with a 30ft rigid and it works quite well. Make sure you have the accumulater on your header lift circuit and it's fully charged up. That makes a huge diffrence between floating and plowing, especially on wet ground.
