I'd adjust up concave until it is evident you went to far. I believe there is a good chance it will get better before it gets worse. Most often you see the guys recommend slightly tighter than the average diameter of threshed cob. Clearance shown on display is only as accurate as how well the concave was zeroed and or if the display was calibrated. Are you running reverse bars, sweeps, or standard helicalsIJ We run feed drums in small grain position for all crops ever since installing shocks in '96.

No reverse bars and have standard helicals. I did adjust front of concave so it is just about at max position and adjusted back so 3rd bar down I can fit a threshed cob in between that and the rotor. That made a big difference. I can see when I am dumping him on the go now that there are more cobs coming out the spreader and way less coming over the shoe.
