welding on the galvinize will cause rust we used pop rivets and got along fine we used steel rivets.

We used rivets on our l3 and they seemed to work fine. We also got our patch from Flanagan Imp.

also one might have to slot the holes in the drive side so as to raise the auger up the thickness of the floor to prevent a new auger from hitting bottom.

last year we bought a good used l and it had the bottom rusted out of the grainbin so we went over the top of the old tin with strips of light gage galvanized sheet metal about 3' long x approximately 12" to 14"wide. I think we used about four or five pieces and started at the augar outlet and worked uphill overlapping an inch or two. We used pop rivets and some liquid nails to fasten it. It turned out pretty good. My only suggestion is not to get carried away with drilling the holes for the pop rivets. I drilled down through the hot water hose that goes to the heater in the cab. It could have been worse. :)
