Combines fan shaft R50

Tim, We spit off a bunch of chains also before we built some fancy shielding to keep the corn cobs away. We even added a outboard bearing to clean grain shaft to try eliminate a chain whip when a cop found its way in there. Do you spring load both the shoe and clean grain idlers. Thanks. Dan

No just the clean grain. I don't know why for sure but maybe the small fan drive vs. the large sprocket on the grain has been the culprit. leverage maybeIJ Anyway after allowing slack in the outter chain and then spring loading it we ElIMINATED all failures in this area. This fall my educated beyond intellegence capacity- Dr.- brother backed into some corn that had been blown over and it probably got into the chain and flipped it off. The beeper went off and he simply got off and with out tools put it back on and went on without futher problems. That beats fighting previous problems. And yes we also left a fabricated shield on the safety gaurd to prevent errant , foul ball cobs from trying to cause mischief...
