Combines losing grain from 9790

What size rear tires are on your combineIJ If they are 14.9-24s, that is your problem. On the 8780s we always raised the rear of the machine at the rear axle. little different on the 9790 though. You have to install bigger rear tires to lift the rear. You are sure that the corn is coming off the shoe and not the rotorIJ You can try to minimize the cob breakage by removing rotor knives - that may allow you to open chaffer even more. Start by removing them at front like in the front threshing section. You can leave them in the separation section if you like or remove them. They are usually not needed for corn anyway and will break cob.

we have the equivelent to 18.4x26's they are michellins something metric, and we have the back end up as high as we can get it. all of the rotor knives are out of the front of the concave they are in the back of it. we are gonna try when we got back to open the chaffer up some more we are getting a lot of fines our return though. allen thanks
