I am assuming you are refering to Hugh Mckay on ytmag. I have read all of the posts. Didn't he say he was making 45 lb bales. It doesn't take much hay to make 45 lb bales vs the 60-80 lb bales I make with our JD 348. However, we had 2 different NH balers in the 70s and I know they weren't capable of 4,500 bales per day unless you ran something like 16 hrs. I can't remember the model numbers but we used a JD 4020. I think 4,500 bales in a day is possible with today's balers if you go all day and have nice windrows.
