    wonder how they kept the grain away. in 220bu corn and a 12 row head at 5.2 mph your going to pile up a lot of corn in a hurry.

    I can confirm the Cat 485 has awesome capacity potential. We ran a 485 in irrigated corn last fall, in 250+ bu. corn w_12row head, you must run two 1000bu. carts so one is with the Cat nearly all the time. We tried both a JD 1293 and the Cat 12 row heads and found the Cat head to require less horsepower.

    He didn't say what they ran for grain carts. He said they were in 1_2 mile center pivots, so they cut the circle in fourths to keep the machine reasonably close to the truck. Even so, I'd think one grain cart would be pretty busy. Wouldn't it seem like you could justify two carts filling a semi at each end of the field and a bunch of semi's waiting to loadIJ

    I would think you would need a bunch of trucks and a pretty good grain leg at the bin to keep up.
