Combines MAV chopper on 485

I have no experience with the old choppers as this was my first year with a 570R. I have the MAV chopper and wow. Chopped extremely fine when dry, I actually took the knives out during the day. When tough it does a great job and spreads more than I needed. I cut 36' and often had straw on the standing crop. I had to adjust it down from full spread, so I think it would spread 40+ when straw is tough. It takes horses to run with the knives in full cut position. The seperate chaff spreaders are great also, they spread heavy material full width. If you want fine cut around3" long, then it will work great for you.

It is an excellent replacement, just stay away from the one that puts the chaff with the straw, unless Redekop has come out with a new design, it just doesn't work in canola, the chaff will backfeed and plug the sieves. We've had both, we love our current version, amazing spread.
