Farmers who share their crops or crop revenue with landlords or other parties will no longer be able to sign all of them onto one CWB contract.

Starting in the 2012-13 crop year, those who share in a producer?s returns can no longer be included in the same contract signed by the actual producer, the CWB announced Monday.

"Separate contracts must now be signed for each landlord and interested party sharing in the actual producer?s returns" for the CWB?s first crop year without its current single marketing desk.

Also, the CWB said, its current 10-digit producer ID numbers will become eight-digit CWB "customer numbers" for 2012-13. Existing producer ID numbers will be the same as before, minus the two-digit prefix such as 00- or 01-.

"This change will be seamless and require no action on the part of the producer," the CWB said.

Since CWB delivery permits won?t be required in 2012-13 or beyond, farmers with existing CWB producer ID numbers won?t have to renew, while new producers can call the CWB to be assigned a CWB customer number.

"These changes have been made to streamline CWB processes for the new marketing environment and align with new IT system requirements," the former Canadian Wheat Board said.

Until then

In preparation for the winding-down of the CWB?s single desk, as of June 18, any cancellations of previously issued cash tickets will not be allowed, unless completed within 15 calendar days from the date of issue, the CWB said Monday.

The new rule will also apply to any replacement cash tickets that change the class, grade and/or protein on previously issued cash tickets. Any protein changes made within that window must be no more than 0.5 per cent from the original protein reported, the CWB said.

These provisions apply for the rest of the 2011-12 crop year, the CWB said.
