Early is best when it comes to catching any type of canola disease, especially one as potentially devastating as sclerotinia. Scouting your field early and regularly is important, but knowing when your field is vulnerable can also help you to employ preventative measures against sclerotinia. Prevention is the first line of defence against sclerotinia. If you see symptoms of the disease in your canola, you're already too late. That's why risk assessment and scouting at the right stage are critical.

In this episode of the Canola School Faye Dokken Bouchard takes us through some of what we should be looking for when early scouting and what we should consider in dealing with the threat of sclerotinia.
