New Idea 3639 manure spreader sold for $10,000 (new record price) on west-central Ohio auction Saturday - 11/1/2012

OHIO: IHC 886 TRACTOR SOLD FOR $18,500
My friend Larry Keller with America Auction & Realty, Inc. in Ohio relayed to me they had quite a sale Saturday (Oct. 27, 2012) near Fort Recover, OH. A few sale prices:

IHC 886 tractor with 1687 original hours: $18,500
IHC 574 tractor, gas, w/#2250 loader: $6,250
Polaris Ranger 6x6 ATV with 1600 hours: $3,750
New Idea 3639 manure spreader: $10,000
Bush Hog SQ184 7' rotary mower: $1,550
IHC 370 13' wheel disk: $650
McKee 720 snowblower, 7', dual auger: $1,450

$18,500 on the IHC 886 is the HIGHEST SALE PRICE I've seen on an 886 sold without a loader since September 1996! The 886 sold Saturday in west-central Ohio had cab and heat, but the air did not work...still it sold for $18,500. Pretty hard (near impossible) to find a 30+ year old tractor like this with those kind of original/actual super low hours...and in great shape to boot. $10,000 on the NI 3639 manure spreader....NEW RECORD HIGH SALE PRICE.

Can you read the tea leaves along with me here? End of October into early November and we're seeing some extremely STRONG auction sale prices (like the JD 4440 tractor with 5333 hours last week on south-central Wisconsin farm auction for $42,000) streaming in from around North America......now I look forward and see a BUNCH of super nice farm machinery auctions coming here in November. And I hear the farm audience talking about possible looming changes to the IRS Tax Code (Sec 179, writeoff limits) for 2013 after the election. Whoever gets elected is going to have a tough, tough problem finding new $$ revenue while controlling spending.....so will Washington shine its spotlight on the tax code and take away or minimize the Sec 179 business asset immediate writeoff option??? Who can predict how things in DC will play out....but what I'm sensing currently is a collective..."well I better make sure I get my last writeoff here in 2012 while I can, even at the lower $$ limits this year."

So me thinks its going to get kinda interesting here the next 6-7 weeks. Stay tuned.
