1990 CaseIH 7140 tractor with 3270 hours sold for $76,500 on central Iowa farm auction Saturday - 7/29/2013
USED TRACTOR VALUES REMAIN HIGH
Been interesting last few days. The realities of softer commodity price outlook settling in...but auction prices on good condition used Tractors have remained VERY STRONG. A few examples from the past couple days: a 1990 CaseIH 7140 MFWD with 3270 hours sold for $76,500 on a central Iowa farm auction Saturday (July 27, 2013). That's a new record high auction sale price I've ever seen on a CaseIH 7140...by $7K. And the old record ($69,500) was only 5 months old. The same central Iowa farm auction Saturday also had a 1992 CaseIH 7120 2WD tractor with 3130 hours go for $63,000. Yep, another new record high auction price, topping the previous mark of $57,500 set not long ago. Also on Saturday (July 27, 2013) a farm auction in north-central Ohio produced a couple very strong sale prices on Massey Ferguson Tractors:
2004 MF 8260 MFWD with 1136 hours: $71,000

1979 MF 2705 (nice): $12,000 (new record auction price)There was also a super nice farm auction last Thursday (July 25, 2013) in west-central Illinois. Here are (2) Youtube videos I posted with highlights from that farm sale by Sullivan and Son Auction:
