Seen the same problem firsthand when the local dealer brought us out a ctsII demo. We were combining flax(oilseed...tough wiry short straw_likes to wrap) He combined not more that ten feet before he blew the RH rotor gearbox...straw had wrapped, plugging the RH rotor, and apparently the weakpoint was the gearbox. Not fun tryin to unplug with gearoil dripping on your head either...needless to say, we're not buying a ctsII. Demoed a 9650sts in the same field...had trouble with the discharge beater wrapping until it plugged. Single v belt smokes offly quick.

This I have seen in very wet heavy crops of wheat too 12t_ha crops, the rubber paddle is not strong enough to push the material out and as a result the paddle folds over and gives up, the net result is that the material builds up against the side wall and blocks... if your experienced you feels the machine shake briefly before you stall or break something. So a swinging moco conditioner tine was welded on to the tube 120mm back the end of the tube at 3 and 9 o'clock if the paddles are at 12 and 6, this gives a bit more aggression and as a result Have not blocked it since..
