Combines 9600 combine Feeder House reverse

I had the same problem with a 95 model 9600. The problem was a worn roll pin and key on the reverser gear box main shaft. It was'nt to hard or costly to repair, I only ran the machine another 300 hours before trading it off. It is possible it could have been something else I did'nt catch. The only thing I could determine that could have caused the premature failure was the header shaft seemed to have a vibration in it like had been hit or bent, so I replaced it also. The combine only had 1000 cyl. hours on it when I had troubles. The new shaft was'nt any straiter than the old one. I hope this helps, Bryan

I have seen the same thing with the worn roll pin, this means that the inner sheave was not lock tighted on properly. This would let the sheave move enough to wear on the roll pin.
