Combines 1983 Gleaner N6

I would strongly recommend NOT buying an old Gleaner. The N series combines were complicated, and VERY troublesome. That is why they are very cheap. Most N-series have been trashed already and for good reason. Consider a newer(R series) or else a JD or IH. Spend the extra money- it'll pay off.

There are some good N series out there. Check for updates such as gear driven accelerater rolls rather than chain driven. you're dealer can tell you more. Horse power on our 1983 N6 was more than enough. We traded for an R 62 last year. The improvements are very good. The price is about right but be carefull.

JER: The "blue book" value of the N6 in 1983 with those hours is $22083 US and the 20 ft head $3553 US. That would assume the machine to be field ready and in well maintained condition. The N6 can be an awsome harvester if it is set up properly. Many dealers were not familiar with - and did not recieve adequate training on the rotaries and consequently they were set up by conventional standards and did not perform well.
