thanks for the input on the 6cyl. ours also came with a 30ft header but has the chopper. i think we will only be using it on small grains as our 750 has been our sunflower machine. we do not cut any corn.

Given a choice, I would always go with the V8, we have to run in tough straw conditions in late evenings and the 8 will never skip a beat. Also with hydrostatic there is more power needs. I have ran all day alongside NH with 3208T engines and the V8 Perkins was much easier on fuel for same grain output. You have to clean the air filters everyday or the fuel use goes way up.
