Does DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid ) expand enough in the winter that you need to take your pumps inside at least. I know it freezes at some point, but well below zero.
Curious what everyone does with their GPS monitor screens in the winter? Do you take them out and store inside in the warmth?
-40 can be harsh even when they are not being used.
Badgers have moved in over the past 2 months and digging burrows in and on the edge of municipal roads.
What is the best way to deal with them?
I already put my NH3 tank away for the winter :-)
Eventually got it to calibrate after enabling the Relative Heights feature. Also make sure your ditcher is up on blocks if relevant to make sure that it has the full range of motion.
Just posted my Farm Progress Show Photo Album at http://www.farmchat.com/album.php?albumid=512
Just some random things that caught my attention as a first time visitor to the show.
The Field demos were the most interesting things, even though it was 95F and dust blowing.
Having a problem getting my WM Drain software to calibrate with my new ditcher on my MX240
When I run the calibration process, it raises and lowers the ditcher as it should to the full range, which is about a foot, and then gives me an error message that it has insufficient travel to calibrate...
New to a Trimble FMX this spring.
In my settings I have it set to record topo data points every 10 feet, but when reviewing the raw data after it is only every 50 feet or so that it recorded the data.
Did I miss a different setting somewhere?
Also, when I upload a file afterwards with a...
I wanted to measure some small patches of ground so I installed my Trimble FMX on my Kubota Ute. It worked pretty good and allowed me to practice with WM Drain without running the tractor yet.
I have 9610's but I never had JD before then to know what was different on the older ones.
You can see my photos in the gallery on this site.

Had a few people asking me where to locate the hardware when installing a Trimble Ez (Cheesy) Steer in our Macdon Swather so I took some pictures
There is a separate block inside the steering column that apparently is not supplied by Trimble that allows the plastic cover to be replaced.
Looking for a Rotary Ditcher, just starting my research.
Anybody have any experience with an Eagle vs a Wolverine? Any other good strong brands to look at?
As always, thx for your advice.
Just fired up a combine after its winter rest. Oil pressure light and beeper in cab stay on sometimes.
Oil pressure is good with a gauge, replaced with a new sending unit. Checked and cleaned all harness connections going into cab.
Still on most of the times we fire it up.
Anybody with some...
My experience would say you are going to have trouble. We had R7 R72's and pretty much gave up letting anyone try to bale since no one could do a good job.
too finely ground up, too compact of row after being driven down into the ground. I can only imagine how dry your straw would be at...
I finally got around to posting My 2012 Commodity Classic Picture Album.
It was the first time I attended and was definitely impressed with the companies that were exhibiting. They had knowledgeable people at their booths and knew that every attendee was a serious farmer since they had to pay...
Tractors in good to excellent condition continue to generate VERY STRONG sale prices on machinery auctions around the country. The latest examples:

Machinery Pete here folks, time for an email update report. Used equipment values have remained STRONG as 2011 turned the page into 2012. Here are a few observations & notes from the past week:
