    Mushrooms!

Little mushrooms are popping up everywhere in our flower garden. To me that just means that the soil is too wet. Flowers look good but the mushrooms have to go. Anyone else had this problem?

    Slugs!

Here too! It's been super wet though! We tried the beer idea. I just hope the beer doesn't get rained out. It's been a really wet season so I figured we would get a lot of slugs.

    So much rain

Well I have not had to water my plants or flowers in about four days. It has rained so hard here for a week! It's been raining almost daily for 20 days, I swear. How's your weather been?

    Salt from softener..

Thanks everyone! I saved them! Usually we don't use the softener water to water things. We do drink it though. If we didn't we would be drinking hard water. I didn't know you weren't supposed to.

    Bear?

Well we haven't had any more issues but if we do I will snap a picture. Man, this year has been a year for pests!! I'm tired of fighting them all.

    Best value for family meat?

I would agree with the others on this one. Give it a few year's at least. If you grow their food that should cut the cost a lot. Our neighbor raises pigs so I'll ask him.

    Salt from softener..

So there are times when my children get water from the kitchen sink and use it on the flower boxes. I've noticed that some of the flowers look like they are dying. Do you think it could be from the salt in the water from the water softener?

    Farm Pond vs Well

@RichZ I agree and hope that people know that. I love the idea of a farm pond. I would use it to water the flowers and gardens. Of course I would still use a well too. Animals shouldn't drink the water either, should they?

    Finicky eaters

My children have decided that they want to be picky, finicky eaters. I don't know why they decided this but we aren't letting them off that easy. What do you do to try to get your children to try new things?

    Potted plants

Well we were too late for tulips so we are waiting for mum season. We need to plan a bit more ahead but we didn't. We have the field worked up so it will be easy to plant. I think we will start from bulbs.

    Setting up online orders

We did this with minimal costs involved. We are manning it on our own right now and it's going well. If we get more business, we might have to hire someone to work online.

    Neighbor and their chickens

Oh now that is funny! So they think the chicks are cute but not the chickens. I would think that making them work with the chickens might curb their want for babies. Darn those neighbors!

    Party!

We clean the house too. I like to show off my house so I want it to be clean. Of course we scrub everything outside too. How did the party go?

    Feeding the calves

I did this as a young girl. How fun for the children. How many calves do you have? Is the momma producing? How often are you bottle feeding?

    Sunburn!

Oh no! Vinegar is a great way to take the sting out. Aloe works really well too. I tend to burn every year too. I always lather up with sunscreen but the sun sometimes is just too hot.

    Busy time at work

Well I'm glad to say that things calmed down a bit. Of course, they started to get busy again. I'm thinking of trying to go part time so I can work more here on the farm.

    Raccoon getting flowers

Hmmm... I would think that he is smelling food of some sort. I have never seen a racoon eat flowers. What a pain though. I hope that he stops soon so you don't lose your flowers.

    16 year old gift

What does he like? I'll throw out the big gift, car! Doesn't every 16 year old want a car? You probably have him working for that one though. I wonder how many parents buy their 16 year old vehicles.

    Bear?

Something is spooking our chickens at night. Honestly it looks like bear tracks and the digging of bears. We have never had this problem before. Do bears come out at night? Do they bother chickens?

    Planted flowers

What a great idea. It's still a bit too chilly at night to plant here. We are under a frost warning again tonight. We will be planting this weekend.
