Combines head temp sensor

The sensor works by a ohm reading of between 2000 ohms at 100 degrees and triggers at about 400 degrees at 20ohms. NormalIJ 200-350 and it varies very quickly under load. Any bad connection will put on the light, unplugging the wire or grounding will not put the light out. On many combines we have given up on finding the risistance in the wire and ran a new separate wire from the sensor to the harness 15 pin conncetor - blue red wire under console. First though look at the engine disconnect harness and clean it and the most often culprit area is where the wire exits the cooling chamber. If the grommet is gone it will rub a hole in the insulation of the wire.
