Yes, just remove the spreader. No reason discharge will plug any more than with spreader on. I'm sure he wants the bean straw for bedding - not feed. And it doesn't make very good bedding either in my opinion. As for nutrients - any time anything is taken off the field, you lose nutrients - be it grain, stalks, or straw. However, if he has cattle, he's probably spreading manure on fields you may be farming in which case you are getting free fertilizer.

no, he's most likely feeding it lots of that done here in the dakotas a little mineral and some syrup from and ethanol plant and walla feed for your steers for under a buck a day

You say it's good for steers but what about breed cowsIJ Sorry, but I'm not a livestock man and I'm not sure the landlord is either but he thinks he is. lOl!!!!
