Combines Auto Header Switch

ok, the reason it jumped on the way down is either 1. the rear brass rod was losing contact with the middle spring because of oxidation or a bent or loose spring 2. the wire was loosing currrent due to a faulty switch (rare) or a broke wire in the harness (common) 3. loose connection at the plug in 4. or the 'loop wire' at the harness plug in is not making connection. (it takes TWO red wires with current to lower the maching. Some headers have dual sensors , some one. On the single sensor there is a wire that connects the 2 red wires in the combine harness to the single red wire in the header harness. Happy hunting.
