Call Surplus Center in lincoln NE and buy a aftermarket linear actuator. I think it is about $250 for a 11" actuator

To prevent the ladder from knocking corn down in 30 inch rows on our F2, I removed about six-eight inches from the platform on the ladder (the perforated surface),repositioned it so it is vertical within a few inches of the tire, and then repositioned the latch. Works fine and takes about 1 1_2 hours to complete in your farm shop. Tom

I mounted a 12v winch on front of bin to pull ladder up for my wife as she harvested all our corn while I hauled and dried.

I bought a 1 1_2" X 8" hydraulic cylinder and welded brackets on the ladder near the latch bracket and another one near the cab on top of the platform. I use the reel lift hose to run the cylinder. When the cylinder is closed the ladder is up.

I did basicly the same thing to the ladder on our M3 by cutting about 6-8" off of the flat part on top.No need to fold now with a 4-36 corn head on.
