They had a clean up auction at the plant in Hesston. A few old Fiat-Hesston tractors, unused manufacturing equipment, drop steel, etc. Kelly

AGCO HAD those auctions once a yr at COlDWATER OHIO,NEW IDEA plant when it was still operating.AlWAYS wanted to go to one of those auctions because you would see expermential equipment .AS far as a r-65 that would be alwsome to see it if it is being made now as a new model for 2003.THE POWER maybe will be turned from 285 to 300 hp or better.chad e shafer

$56,000 US sounds pretty good for an R52 of that vintage and hours. Around here R72s of that vintage and hours might bring $60,000 US, and the R52 is probably a more difficult combine to resell in most areas. Sounds like a pretty fair deal. Probably seems like a lot because you're not only upgrading models and years, but also up one size. Big difference between a 52 and 62.

My neighbor bought a 95 R52 w_2000 hrs., 6rn cornhead and 18' flex AS A PACKAGE for $125,000 from an AGCO dealer. 90k sounds pretty fair to me!

Your not going to like this but I have to agree that 56K is pretty good considering all the used machines on the market today. For example, you saw what the R-72 brought on the auction in Colorado. The classifieds of the last Minnesota Farm Guide have low houred 9600's ('91 and'96) and a 9610 ('99) with asking prices from $38,500-$61,500; you know they are not going to get asking price.

Just wanting to reply about the price of the R52 and heads that sold for 125,000. That seems way too high. I may not be comparing apples to apples, but we just traded a 1996 yr 9500 machine with 2225 engine hours, 1730 sep hours and a 693 6 row poly head, along with a 922 flex head. Both heads were purchased new with the combine in 1996. We traded all this in for a 2003 9650STS loaded with duals and no yield monitor, along with new 893 corn head and 930F flex head for $150,000. It just seems like that wasnt too good of a deal for the Gleaner. Im just happy with the price we paid and what they allowed us for our old machine. If our machine had sold at an auction, it wouldnt have brought 35000. Just my 2 cents worth. -Budlight-

I'm sorry, but I left two very important words out of my previous post! CANADIAN DOllARS! $125,000 = (+_-) $80,000 USD.
