In my neighborhood I would guess the unit at under $10,000. The only other thing I could add is that there are a lot of moving parts on the orange cornheads and when they get some hours on them they are a nightmare. If you could afford a newer one..."go for it".

77 l2s are fabulous machines. I had one and liked it. But I think I would avoid any machine that had a goofy cooler or makeshift anything else for that matter. If the previous owner tried to balance his budget by skimping on repair parts the natural question to ask is whether of not he skimped on engine oil and grease. When I buy a used machine, I look at appearance. If the former owner took some pride in keeping his stuff looking good, chances are good that he took care of the rest of the machine as well. The guys who wreck the outside are the same guys who destroy the expensive internal parts. Good luck Tom in MN
