Combines Variable speed on reel won t slow down

Gleaner R50, 1988 model I believe the head is a 300, the pump is on the head. Have not had time to check all the wiring yet.

If I recall correctly, the default is the highest speed. In other words, if the module doesnt get reel speed input, it will run the reel at top speed. Check your sensor and all wires_connectors for an open circuit. Tom in MN

correct, you have two wires going to the electric motor in the pump to throttle the supply of oil. When the fast button is pushed one wire becomes positive and the other neg and vice versa for slow. Turn the key on, motor off and have someone push the button and listen for the humm of the little electric motor. If it turns, the clutch is defective in the motor shaft.
