Combines 1666 vs R52

Don't know about the 1666 never run one had a 52 with the short shoe only kept it one year did not like it at all but the last 52 (we have a 65 now) had the long liked everything about it 6 30 corn head 150 to 170 bpa 5 mph no rottor or shoe loss at all 25 ft flex head for soys up to 55 bpa without any loss

I have no experience with the CaseIH machine, but have had and early R52, and have a neighbor with a late 52. In my opinion, if you are planning to go to the larger heads, don't even consider a 52. The shoe capacity, even with the longer model, is not sufficient to properly separate that quantity of material. You may also want to consider hopper capacity-the Case is considerably less than a comparable Gleaner.

We have a 1995 model short shoe R52. Comparing to a long shoe 1998 model, I have seen no performance loss. The 1998 model was plain stock. Our R52 has the three stage chaffer mod., front and rear feeder house shocks, 3_4" bars, otherwise stock. looking to do full hyper mod. on processor this winter. We run 6 row 30" hugger, 20ft. flex head. Corn 150 to 200bu., soybeans 30 to 55 bu.. Seems like a nice fit. Don't know about the 2166 Case IH.
