Combines tx68 chopper spreader causing damage in corn

Not that familiar with TX, but quite a few years ago, encountered this on a 915 IH. The walkers were throwing cobs, etc. too far back, and the hammers would throw them back forward -- they would hit the top sheet metal (sounded like a hailstorm) and were actually tearing up the chaffer. We ended up installing a false panel on the sheet metal above the chopper to redirect the stuff downward. This was l shaped, 11 ga. and had angled flanges drilled for bolting, and as I recall the bottom portion was about 4" wide and the front side was about 16" tall. The bottom flange probably should have been rolled concave for a better fit closer to the hammers, but we were in a hurry and left it square. Measurements would likely be different on your machine due to angles, front to back width on your chopper, etc., and actually in your case a piece of belting bolted to the rear sheet metal and extending forward might do as well --I think it would depend on the angle. What we did pretty much took care of the problem on that machine. Hope this is clear enough to understand.
