Combines 480 vs 470 how much biggerIJ

Not trying to be critical. I would much rather run a combine at 3.5 mph than 5 or 6 mph--much less operator fatigue and much easier on equipment generally. Or were you worried about falling asleep by being too relaxedIJ :)

It's like you said, you couldn't keep the 480 full. In 2001 we had the first twelve row and switched to all twelve rows in 2003. We probably increased overall capacity by 40% with the same size combines.

Farmerman, we are farming in the Red River Valley in Manitoba, our main crops are Canola, Winter Wheat, Oats, Spring Wheat, Perennial Ryegrass and Sunflowers. We actually run 2 480's. The first one is a 1999 with 1400 sep.hours on it and the other one is a 2001 with 1100 sep.hours on it.

Then I should be good for a while if I get one with 860 sep. hrs. What should I be looking for to make sure I'm not buying something I won't be happy with.
