Helmut, We run mostly a JD tractor fleet but for our next purchase it just might be a Claas tractor because JD have become too expensive!!.We bought a 100hp Renault Aires (now owned by Claas) in 2002 to run the grass rake_fertiliser spreader_sprayer in the summer and forage box feeder in the winter and its proven to be a very reliable tractor. If JD take away the engine for the Claas tractors they will most probably turn to Sisu (Valtra tractor engine) engines from Finland which are just as good.

I don't think Mercedes have any tractor type engines available in the 50 to 300hp rangeIJ

These are great pictures.I bought a cat combine video on E-bay, and it takes you through the claas factory. It shows these machines working in the field, and also the cat tractors. Got a lexion cap too in the deal. If there are any left on E-bay, It is a pretty good deal for combine enthusiasts. Thanks for the link. I can't wait to see it for real. A friend of mine bought a JD 9500 and he got to go to Moline and get a tour of that plant. I got a chance to go with him, and that was pretty neat too. Hopefully I'll have a chance to compare.
