We raise mainly wheat and milo so we don't remove filler plates. Our machines have 1 solid and 3 slotted filler plates. We run cylinder around 400-500 RPM depending on conditions. Concave is about half way open in front and 1_8" clearance in back. This is our starting point. If you get alot of split beans slow cylinder down a little more or lower concave 1 or 2 more notches. you may also want to remove the channels in the rethresher unit. this will help reduce splits also. This is how we set our combines for soybeans, hope it helps.
