Yes we use the cross auger coverplates, the one on the rear auger is being pushed up and deformed.

Slowing the auger down will help. JD makes a larger sprocket for the rear cross tank unloading auger I believe that it is either a 60 or a 61 tooth sprocket. It is listed in your parts book as Rice only. This will cure the problem for a period of time. To solve the problem check the following:

Thanks for your input. I think you nailed it when you talked about worn out augers. These are original augers in the machine, which is a 94 model with about 2000 sep hours. We have gotten a auger from a savage yard which looks pretty good and we have also gotten the slower sprocket to put on. The combine is in the shop waiting to be fixed so when it gets too cold to do anything else we'll tear into it.
