Combines 9890

Our local dealer told us that one was in the near future. No idea when it will come out. Hopefully sooner than later. All they told us was that it would come out with a 40 ft. draper head. I am assuming it has the old White 9700-9720 rotor in it (31 by 160 in.),lots of capacity potential! John Deere and Case-New Holland watch out!

I too like the looks of the new rotor but the top chaffer is 57.86 + 78.75 that is only 4556 square inches of cleaning. What do they plan to increase in this departmentIJ Maybe a bigger auger and clean grain elevator tooIJ

I don't really know how much claning area these machines will have. The only thing I have to estimate on is old White 9700 books at home. So I really dont even know for shure if they are using the same rotor specs. But it would be my best bet sense Massey bought the White combine division when it fell through. And the current rotor is based off the White 9320. Anyway this weekend when I go home from school I will look up the cleaning area in a 9700 book.

9700 chaffer is 78.75"x57.875" =4236 sq. inches. Sieve is 58x58.5 =3103 for a total of 7339 sq. inches

Thanks never had time to look up specs this weekend. Maybe they will have this new combine at the NFMS in louisville Kent. in Feb. Or at least someone that would give up some info on it.

Combine engineer with Massey told me that they were testing in europe this fall. They were using the 9790 platform with 400+ hp. The rotor was a limiting factor in capacity. (with the tough straw) They want to use a hydralic rotor drive but might have to try the fendt transmission with a larger rotor. If the Massey rotor is a limiting factor in capacity, what about J.D.'s and Case's rotor size, maybe just adding hp. isn't the answer to combine capacity. Oor dealer said Massey has a few running. Fendt CVT tranny on the rotor drive. Ought to be interesting. If its anything like the Fendt tractor, it'll rule the market... that is if people would open their eyes and stop being so colorblind. In my area at least.

A CVT tranny on the rotorIJ Isn't that something. Never would have thought someone would put that on a rotor. So you can basically set it at any rpmIJ Even 714rpm if you wantedIJ Ya i've heard the best combine on the market is a Massey painted green. Figures. Take care and thanks for the info, Nathan
