Combines AGCO tractors

I bought a dt180 with front susp_ great tractor but i have too read the dam manual all the time_i forget how to run it

Only guys I can find that don't like them are the guys that would still like the stick shift on the floor. Headland management and some of the goodies are way over some guys heads. Still just a couple simple moves and they can drive like the old tractors they are still attached to. I was worried with the high fuel prices I would get a bunch of fuel use complaints which is common with any new engine we have had but that just didn't happen. All ours were still the tier 2 but I'd have to say I've never been around a more solid sounding or quite diesel engine. We take it a little slow training someone into the headland management but when they get onto it they love it. We only had a small one with suspended front axle and it is very nice. I would imagine we will get some bigger ones with suspended axle now they are available. I had one guy with a couple of these machines and he had a tough time with steps. We found steps were tucked under one another a bit to much for his likeing so we brought second step from top out one inch, third step out two inches and bottom step three inches. Feels much more comfortable like that.

When you have to read a manual to operate a tractor you know there is too much extra crap in it that nobody will ever use. It's not just orange it's all the colors. What's wrong with just a tach, hourmeter, fuel gauge and a couple idiot lights. An 4x2 trany with dual power is more than enough. You have to be an electrical engineer to fix these things when they don't work anymore.

I know what you mean. My dad says that all of the time. Why dont they just make a simple tractor like they use to. I tell him,give it up it aint going to happen. I would sure like a brand new 220 allis,just plain 150hp straight transmisson,nothing electronic,if something goes wrong you can trace it down on those ole machines.Something on these new ones it could be a millon things. Reading this reminds me of driving the new Challenger 680B combine I demo'd this fall. The new field star screen is used to adjust everything, by touch. What if the sieve didn't adjust or the cylinder speed didn't changeIJ what would I doIJ

What did you think of the 680 compared to what you have nowIJ Is it going to be the real thing to replace a R-75 or is it just going to give us a little jump in capacity for a lot more moneyIJ
