Combines Automatic reel speed too slowIJ

With the combine going in the field, push in on the foot n inch pedal, does the reel keep turning or does it stopIJ It needs to keep turning, you might have your minimum reel speed set too slow.

Does it also gallopIJ We have the same combine and occasionally I'm unable to speed it up past a certain point. If I switch to manual it works 100%. In fact if I switch it over while driving to manual it will almost throw the crop over back of head it goes so fast, depending where I have knob set. I usually run in manual, as it never fails. Sometimes switch back to auto awhile. Must be a problem in the electronics. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I hope its a setting error. On mine a mechanic set up a bypass switch on the dash. Said that some wire might be sending bad signal because of bad grounding when wire gets warm. If my reel starts to go slow, I flip on switch (which is basically a live wire from positive terminal jammed into the separator terminal) and the reel jumps to life. Mech says engineers never incorporate the idea of dust, rain or rust into their designs.

I thought I was the only one with the peice of junk auto reel. Mine gallops, and does not run fast enough either. Dealer replaced the spool valve for wheat harvest, Seemed to make it slower if anything. He wanted to blame it on the 1052 reel. I said I have put a 1010 header on it and it would do the same. I sure wish some one knew with certainty. Kind of like their Accusteer new tractors. Just so close for Auto steer yet miles from having real accuracy with the way their make up valves work (center locking of back articulation joint)

Do any of you experience where the header wont lift or go down on intial start up. Sometimes my does this. I have wiggled the header pot several times and never felt it was the problem. Best thing to do is just turn switch back and forth several times and then it will go to working. Used to shut off and restart, but just moving the keyswitch seems to work. I wonder if the two problems do not relate to each other. Any smart mechanics out there that know the fix would be appreciated.
