WASHINGTON, Feb. 1, 2021 — In one of his first acts in office, President Joe Biden requested federal agencies to extend the eviction and foreclosure moratorium for millions of Americans impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. In response, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) extended the eviction and foreclosure moratorium to affected multifamily housing residents through March 31, 2021.
That's good to know. We've been fortunate in my area, but the next county over was hit hard with COVID-19 and job closures. I hope measures like this one will help people get back on their feet.
I was glad to see this extended too. I really just wish that people had to prove that they were affected. In NY, our Governor keeps extending the no rent/no eviction and no shut-offs of electric. That's all great if people didn't abuse it.
