Caledonia Trailblazers Vice-President Doug Hill remains hopeful that snow will arrive this winter so that he can take his snowmobile out at least once this season.By Sally Santora | Feb 10, 2012

All of the elements of a perfect winter day were in place, sunny blue skies, seasonably cool temperatures with no bitter winter wind, good food and the company of fellow snowmobile riders. However, the most important ingredient was missing ? snow.

Caledonia Trailblazers hosted Winterfest 2012 at J.W. Jones Hall last Saturday. Club Vice-President Doug Hill called the lack of snow this winter, disappointing.

Even though there was over 80 inches of snow at this time last winter, Hill says it was till a difficult year for snowmobiling because the snow came in large amounts but it was dry and with the wind, it easily blew off the trails.

?It seems to get worse and worse every year,? Hill said.
