I agree, I don't really see any magic in the new CR's other than convenience and a biggercab. They did away with the Genesis engine that was the most efficient going. The unloading auger was added to appease the dealers not the users. The cost is out of sight. I even tried to trade for a near new or newer TR-99 last spring and again this fall with no luck. NH's treatmet of their remaining dealers stinks. I now have 945 hrs on mine and repairs beyond fist year warrantee are out of sight. Wear seems to be excessive.I love my TR-99, but I am frustrated. I'm even having trouble with NH credit. I'm still curious about the CR's capacities.

NHDon, Why don't you think a 940 compares to a TR-99IJ The spec sheet looks like they do. Only thing I see is it says up to 8 row corn head for CR-940 and a 99 could have 12. I have 900 hrs on my TR-98 and in going over it this fall I don't see abnormal wear at all. I even changed the rotor coupling chains and they still looked alright. What kind of wear are you havingIJ I sure hope some of you trade a low hr TR-99 so I can move up. Gerald

Actually it is my understanding that the genesis engine is still being used in the CR920 and 940. In the two bigger models they are using Iveco.

I've got over 1500hrs on my '97 with no wear problems as of yet. After corn this year I replaced chopper blades and knives along with the belts that pull the roller and chopper. The one thing on this machine that has given me more trouble than anything is on the rod that engages the throat and header. There is a bolt that slides over the rod and bolts through the idler pulleys arm that tightens the belt. I have had one of the bolts break, so I welded another bolt onto it and ordered a spare. Put that one last year and just a couple of days ago it came loose so I put a lock nut on it this time. Nothing to it really. Hey, if you guys find some low houred, well maintained '99's for sale pass it along if you can JD
