This was posted several days ago over on Gleaner Talk show in reponse to a question as to what was the limiting factor for capacity on a Gleaner combine: 1998 R72,385hp., seive removed, 12-30hd. 6.7mph, 200bpa corn, 4000bph+, plugged the clean grain
Yes, this is only the 9650 try adding 50 more hp and then will talk. and just wondering how many of these silver seeder R72's are out their or are going to be. Not near as many as deere!!!!
A 12 row corn head is impressive for a deere. last fall in blue earth, minnesota we were allowed to demo the cat 480 combine in corn. the cat had a 12 row corn head and the crop averaged 212 bu_acre. we could consistently run 6 - 7 mph. anything over 7 and we overloaded the cutters on the head. it's nice to see deere building a larger combine but it is still a long way off the cat!
Have you seen it in wheat, peas or canola as compared to a 9600 or 9610. Did the 9650 sts seem to have enough power or should the 9750 sts be the only machine to be considered. How was the quality and quantity of barley straw as compared to a 9610IJ I was told that there was still lots of straw in mid afternoon on a hot day and that each peice was quite long and easy to round bale.
